A Pacific Northwest wedding and portrait photographer

the process:

  1. Initial contact: Fill out my contact form or send me an email at hello@vangachnang.com with some information about what kind of services you’re looking to have photographed. The more details, the better! I’ll check my calendar to see if I’m booked and if not, we’ll take the next step together. I specialize in all-things wedding and engagement related, but I do photograph other things like families and high school Seniors as well. Just ask!

  2. Booking: This is where we chat! If you prefer to meet in person over coffee (and donuts, obviously), I’m down with that. Prefer a phone call? Works for me. I can also get you all the info you need through good old email or even a video chat session! All forms, contracts, and invoices will be sent digitally, so no matter where you are, we’ll be on the exact same page. The basics of my wedding packages are laid out on my pricing page so you can get a feel for a range of services, but I’m always open to making a custom package based on exactly what you need. We’ll go over everything from payment due dates, what images you’ll receive and when, and everything else you have questions about.

Bonus tip: All wedding packages come with a complementary engagement session! It’s a great chance for me to get to know you better and for you to get comfortable in front of the camera. Win-win!

  3. THE BIG DAY! I’ll be there doing my thing even when you don’t see me. We’ll take some stellar photos of everything important to you and we’ll have a kick-ass time doing it! Some packages include a second photographer which means more angles, more photos, and more memories (but I’m totally confident getting all the best photos alone). I’ll check in with you throughout the day but otherwise, your only job is to relax and have a great time. I’ve got this!

  4. After your day: First thing I do when I get home- upload and back up your images to two hard drives as well as the Cloud. I don’t leave room for anything to go wrong. Those memory cards are glued to me until I’m at home safely backing them up.

  5. Processing and editing: I know that waiting is the hard part but believe me, I put so much time and thought into your photographs to make sure every last one is damn near perfect. I’ll send you sneak peeks along the way so you can share with your loved ones. You’ll receive everything digitally in an online gallery so there’s no chance of losing them in the mail. From there you can download images, share on social media, send the gallery link to friends and family, and even order the highest quality prints out there. You can also browse through my options for some items like photo albums and canvas prints for your absolute favorite photos!

  6. THAT’S IT! Not only is this process streamlined and simple for you, but for me as well! I’m no stranger to photographing important events or parts of life that you don’t want to forget, and I want to build a friendship with you so that you can trust me and communicate exactly what you need from me.

faqs:

How do we reserve you as our photographer? Two steps: Sign the contract I put together and pay 50% of your total wedding package. That’s it! The remainder is due 2 weeks before your wedding, but I’ll keep you in the loop as we get closer.

How many photos will we receive after the wedding? The total number of images will depend greatly on a few factors: how long I’m shooting, if there is a second photographer, and a few other things. I am to deliver 50-75 images per hour I’m at your wedding. The only images I won’t deliver to you in the end are duplicates, images with technical errors (you guessed it, I’m human!), or an image where you’re mid-sneeze and nobody looks their best. I want you to have as many images as possible!!

Should I book a second photographer? This one’s up to you! While I definitely can photograph your wedding without one, a second photographer will get you more final images, a second angle on your ceremony and portraits, or photographing guests at cocktail hour while we’re heading to that one special location nearby. I LOVE having second photographers with me and I think it’s great to have a second set of eyes on everything happening.

How long after the wedding will we receive our images? I do everything I can to get the images in your hands ASAP, but I also have other clients, general upkeep of my business, and I like to sleep, too! I can guarantee you’ll have your final image gallery within six weeks. If you want to expedite this, contact me for pricing and details.

What kind of rights do we have to the photos? Your print release included with every gallery is exactly what it sounds like- you’ll have the right to print the photos as often as you like and at any printer. You’ll download the high-res image files and from there, you can share the gallery link with friends, upload your faves to social media, and print, print, PRINT! The release doesn’t allow any sort of editing to the photos, using for advertising (like submitting to an online blog), or selling the photos.

Are you available for travel? You bet your ass I am! If you’re going to be saying ‘I do!’, I can get there with you. I’ll fly, hike, or drive to wherever you want your special day to happen. While I service the greater Seattle area with no added fee, anything further than 60 miles from Tacoma, Washington will incur travel fees.
