Peter + Ashley | Kitsap State Park Outdoor Wedding

This past fall, I had the opportunity to photograph alongside Kamra Fuller shortly after I moved to Washington and it was honestly the BEST way to kick off shooting weddings in the state I now call home!! Ashley and Peter said their vows under towering trees at Kitsap Memorial State Park in Pouslbo, Washington in front of their friends and family (with perfect weather, to boot!).

Soooooooo many things about Peter and Ashley’s wedding reminded me of my own wedding reception this summer and I couldn’t get over how lovely everything was, especially the music. “You and I“ by Ingrid Michaelson was the surprise recessional song and I love singing it off-key to my husband as loud as I can. They had their first dance to “Emmylou” by First Aid Kit and, I kid you not, I listen to that song almost daily and have for probably two years (no shame!). And their entiiiiiiire reception playlist was filled with songs I played at my reception, so you better believe I sang along the whole night.

My favorite part of this day was when Kamra and I stole the two newlyweds for some golden hour portraits and we were all completely in awe of the beauty the Northwest constantly brings. The way the sun hit Ashley’s face made her look like straight up porcelain!! I cannot recommend enough scheduling a quick 10-15 minutes during your reception to get more wedding portraits in inevitably lovely light. The proof is in these photos!!
