Allison is like the little sister I never had, so when she asked me to photograph her engagement session and her wedding, I was over the moon! My best friend Leah (who also happens to be my associate photographer that kicks major ass) has been in my life for such a long time, and therefore so has her family. Her younger sister Allison was always around when we were growing up, and I got to watch her turn into a young adult who is engaged to a kind-hearted man.
I went up north to visit family and friends for the weekend and scheduled a session with Allison and Alec shortly after they got engaged. Being so early in Spring, most of the trees and greens outside were still lacking any color, but we still headed to Schmeeckle Reserve in Stevens Point and the sun was shining!
Afterwards, we all headed towards the historic part of downtown Stevens Point and found some rustic areas that were so beautifully worn down. I've photographed some weddings in the area before and that area of town is too lovely! Plus, I remember going to a few local shows nearby when I was a teenager and it always brings out some nostalgia.
Getting to meet Alec and learn more about him showed me that he genuinely and deeply cares for Allison and my heart is so full knowing that they're going to spend their lives together. I had the opportunity to attend Allison's wedding shower recently and her family is incredibly warm and welcoming and have been like my second family ever since Leah and I met. Allison and Alec's wedding this fall is going to be like a big family reunion for me!
